Homecoming King Applilcation

Are you interested in being selected as the 2008 Homecoming King (Ugly Man) or Homecoming Queen?  Nu Sigma Chi Sorority and Delta Chi Fraternity are again running this competition and are looking for interested students to register.  Any male or female can enter and represent a residence hall, sport team, organization or simply as an individual.  The Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned during next Fall’s Homecoming Weekend (September 7 – 9).

This is an annual event for both sponsoring groups as they ask contestants to raise money for their chapter’s chosen philanthropy.  Delta Chi will again be raising money for The Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research while Nu Sigma Chi will be raising money for The American Cancer Society.  The Homecoming Court will consist of the top 5 men and top 5 women who raise the most money.  The King and Queen will be those who raise the most money. Last year Michael Scala was crowned King (Ugly Man) while Sheresa Christopher was crowned Queen.  Mike represented both SGA and Alpha Phi Omega while Sheresa represented Sigma Delta Tau Sorority.  100% of the money raised by all contestants goes to the charities mentioned above.

Our goal is to raise the most money possible for these worthy causes.  We feel that by starting now we can give contestants a few weeks at school this spring, the entire summer, and two weeks of school in the fall in which to raise money.  Be creative – local businesses in your hometown are often looking to donate money for tax benefits!

We have attached the appropriate registration forms and there will be rolling admissions up until September 3, 2007.  Contestants will have until September 6, 2007 to raise money and should start the application process as soon as possible to increase their chances of winning.  For more information on the Jimmy V Foundation and/or the American Cancer Society please visit their websites at www.jimmyv.org and www.cancer.org.
